I’ve popped this post in because I had a request on how to make a card that I posted on Facebook.
It is slightly different to the original card I posted but the process is the same.
This is the original card I posted.
I start with a standard A2 horizontally folded card and stamp the poppies along the base in an alcohol friendly ink. Then with a light grey ink and the Fragile Foliage stamps place them around the edge, keeping in mind where I am placing my additional flowers and where the sentiment will go.,
The square bracket card flip die is place along the fold (which is the centre of the card front). It only cuts the top part to allow your sentiment to stand up. Another die in the kit cuts a slightly smaller fancy square for you to put your sentiment on. I cut one from purple cardstock and two white ones for dimension. Tip: Don’t throw away the negative piece – I used it in my Misti to help with holding it and also practicing my placement of my sentiment.
These are the alcohol markers that I used to colour my images.
After completing the colouring I then silver embossed some more Fragile Foliage images around the edge, overlapping the grey stamped images.
This is why I keep the negative so that it helps with lining things up and the white ones I do a practice to make sure that I am happy with the placement and combination of stamps.
After silver embossing the sentiment I then used a clear embossing pen to go around the edge with white twinkle embossing powder.
Inside the card the smallest die in the set is used to create a stand for your card. My middle photo shows the alcohol inks have bleed through so I glued a piece of while cardstock over this to make the card look more professional. All that is required to do now is stamp a message inside the card, glue the other coloured flowers to the front (which also needs another white piece of cardstock behind it to hide the bleeding from behind) and put some small embellishments on it.
Supplies used
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock 80lb and 110lb
So I would like to say thank you to Sandy Booth who asked via Facebook about how I made this card. It’s lovely to receive feedback and share knowledge.
You could also use your nesting die sets to create a similar look using the partial die cutting technique. It’s a great way of getting more out of your supplies.
