It was wonderful to get involved with another Altenew Educator Blog Hop and our topic of “Anything But A Card” allowed me to go crazy with tag making!
If you have been following the blog hop you have just seen Rachael Shedeed’s fantastic work, thanks for dropping by!
As you will see I have made quite a few tags and used stencils along with Altenew’s fine liner pen set to add some extra doodles.

Don’t forget that there are
$200 in total prizes! Altenew is giving away a $35 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 07/04/2021 for a chance to win.
There’s MORE! What’s a hop without YOU?! We have included an Inlinkz at the Altenew blog for you to enter your gorgeous Altenew “Anything But A Card” creations. We will pick 2 of our favorite handmade creations from those who joined the linky party and they will each receive a $15 Altenew gift certificate!
Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 07/06/2021.
Now, let’s have a look at some of these tags. I have got some shots of them in various stages for you.

This is where I started my project. I wanted to highlight one stamp and one ink set. I ended up using some Distress ink to give them an aged look.
I thought that they were so cute that I wanted to keep going…….

I wanted the tags to have a grunge look to them so I paired Altenew’s inks with some Distress Ink along with some doodling.

The sugarplum ink set was used with these tags.

You can then add a sentiment (if you want to) in a variety of ways. Ink, foiling and embossing were used here.
The next set of tags were started by simply swiping an ink cube back and forth onto the tag. Not only is it very quick it gives a lovely wood grain effect. Once the background is taken care of I used another darker ink in the set with a silhouette stamp and then you can start to add your own touches with stencils and faux stitching. On the darkest background I used a white pigment ink for the silhouette stamp.
I also have added some of the tags that caused me some drama but I didn’t give up. Thankfully heat embossing can hide some mistakes.

Here is the Blog Hop list:
