Altenew Educators “Alphabet Name Game” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway

We have another fun Blog Hop with the Altenew Educators. This time we were asked to use a technique/style/tool that started with the letter of our first name. Since mine is Fiona I could have done foiling, fraying, folding (you get the idea) anyway I decided to use stamping Foam.

I had recently been at a Craft Show with Neha Aggarwal where I was demonstrating a new craft foam and fell in love with it. You just heat it with your heat gun for 20/30 seconds and then press it onto the surface of what you would like to use. The possibilities are endless, you can use stamps, dies, background stamps, embossing folders, stencils, anything! And the results you get are similar to block printing. What I really like is that it gives you another look from products you already own.

So as you can imagine I went crazy and designed four cards for you. Let me know in the comments below which one was your favorite.

It is important to remember to swipe the ink pads across the foam. Do not treat it like a stamp. You don’t want to get the ink into the crevices. I was able to get some lovely ombre effects using Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks.

Thanks to Joylita Dsouza for sending you here if you started the hop from the beginning.

Don’t forget that there are $200 in total prizes! Altenew is giving away a $35 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 10/09/2021 for a chance to win.

There’s MORE! What’s a hop without YOU?! We have included an Inlinkz at the Altenew blog for you to enter your gorgeous Altenew “Alphabet Name Game” creations. We will pick 2 of our favorite handmade creations from those who joined the linky party and they will each receive a $15 Altenew gift certificate!

Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 10/11/2021.

This was probably my favorite card. I really love the Sweet Dreams Ink Set.

  1. I think my favorite card is the same one that is yours. Thank you for the idea of using a die cut with stamping foam as a shadow. There have been MANY times I wish that I had a shadow die with a die cut and I never would have thought of this on my own. I am excited to give it a try!

  3. Great pick! I am so glad Simon H’s product is getting attention. I thought it was so cool when it first came out. (I know it’s an old trick but it was new to me at the time)

  5. I can’t wait to try this technique out. My fave is the Friendship Blooms card, but I don’t get how you did the embossing. Where did you use the dye ink and embossing ink?

    1. Hi Sandra. Thanks for leaving me a comment. I used embossing ink on the first panel along with Misty Morning dye ink over the entire piece and used shimmering pearl embossing powder. Then I covered my die cut word with Nimbus dye ink and also covered it with embossing ink and the shimmering pearl embossing powder to add my shine elements to the card. Hope this explains where I used the embossing ink for you. ❤️😊

  7. Omg! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this technique—so creative. I think I also like the card that you added the pen details, it is soooo impactful.
