Altenew: A Year In Review: Crafters’ Edition Blog Hop + Giveaway

I love 💕 this time of year when we get a chance to look back at all of the cards we have created over the last 12 months. Thank you to Mindy Eggen for sending you to my blog if you have been following the Year in Review Crafters’ Edition from Altenew.

Altenew released so many new products this year and I have put together some of the projects that I am most proud of.

Project 1 – Dry Embossed Stencils

The Golden Days Hot Foil and Stencil Set was definitely a favorite 🤩 of mine. I even made a video about using these products which you can see here.

Trellis Stencil

Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set

Obsidian Pigment Ink

Ink sprays – Caramel Toffee & Warm Sunshine

Crisp Dye Ink Set – Summer Afternoon

Artist Markers – Y612 & Y823

Project 2 – Monochromatic Alcohol Markers

Alcohol markers are my go to tools, I particularly like the Altenew alcohol markers because they have a brush nib as well as a fine point nib which allows you to do fine detail.

I combined the gray markers from Set E with the Whimsical Flower Bunch Coloring Sheets to make this sympathy card along with some simple scoring to create texture.

Project 3 – Heat Embossed Watercolor

Background stamps are excellent to use in a variety of ways to create interest. This time I heat embossed with white embossing powder on watercolor paper. The linear spiral background stamp creates lots of triangles so I chose one side of the triangle to start with my watercolor brush marker and then watered it out to the other side of the triangle. I followed a rainbow 🌈 order and also used this for shadowing the sentiments.

Project 4 – Embossed Resist

My final project is a technique that I really enjoy. It’s also known as the Jacob’s Coat technique.

I also made a YouTube video on this one so if you would like to see how to create a card like this click here.

  1. WOW! Each card is so special. The monochromatic sympathy card is just so lovely. And my favorite is the triangle rainbow birthday card, with its bright colors and sentiments. But I am also intrigued by the Joseph’s Coat technique, which I will absolutely be trying. And who doesn’t love a giant yellow bloom!? Thank you for sharing and have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!💜🎄💜🎄💜

  3. All are so beautiful! I don’t think I’ve seen your video using the “Joseph’s Coat” technique so that’s where I’m going once I’m done this blog hop!
